Tribute to Pastor Ron

A TRIBUTE FROM THE CANADIAN CUBAN PROJECTS TEAM IN MEMORY OF PASTOR RON

Pastor Ron Lofthouse was a founding member(2007) of the Canadian Cuban Projects Team. Many of you know of Pastor Ron’s great love for Cuba and the Cuban people. This all began in 1993 when Ron and Marjorie celebrated a Wedding Anniversary and chose Guardalavaca, Cuba near the city of Holguin as their destination. As friends and family have heard Ron the evangelist shared his faith in Jesus with a young Cuban couple practicing their English and they believed in the good news about Christ and other family members later did the same.

This movement of Cubans coming to faith in Christ inspired Ron to work with others like Tom Davies, Gord Gilmore, Bert Bural and Alice Wing from the Welland BIC Church to launch a registered Canadian charity, the CCPT, to work with the Brethren In Christ Church in Cuba. The CCPT has been sending since 2009 work, ministry and vision teams to Cuba in cooperation with BIC Canada Global and the BIC Church in Cuba. This ministry has focused on building training centers for leadership training in Cuba and constructing and expanding church buildings and house churches to reach and disciple believers in the faith.

Pastor Ron Lofthouse has been uniquely instrumental in promoting the cause of Christ in Cuba and leading many people from a multitude of backgrounds to a saving relationship with Christ our risen Saviour and Lord.

One new project in Cuba that has benefitted greatly from Pastor Ron’s encouragement and compassion has decided to call their farm ministry “RANCHO LOFTHOUSE”. This ministry plans to supply vegetable and meat products to a wider community of needy people who experience many shortages in their lives and families and will give support to other CCPT projects in Cuba. The name of this project speaks loudly to the witness, testimony and love of Pastor Ron for the people of Cuba.

Pastor Ron we will miss you but will always be stimulated to serve the Lord and share the gospel and love all people as you have so powerfully done.
